SUMMARY:2023 Fall Spinners’ Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Until further notice\, all participants in Fiber Garden-hosted events are required to show proof of full COVID vaccination\, including at least one booster\, to participate. (We suggest you be boosted with all recommended boosters.) There may be additional protocols implemented to adhere to CDC guidelines and ensure maximum safety of participants. By registering for a Fiber Garden-sponsored event\, you agree to comply with any established guidelines.  Now…on to the fun stuff! \nJoin the Fiber Garden and spinning friends for a weekend of spinning at Holy Wisdom Monastery Retreat & Guest House in Middleton WI! The monastery grounds consist of more than 130 acres of land\, including Lost Lake\, the restored prairie and savanna areas\, woodlands\, gardens\, orchards\, and nature trails. This retreat is an opportunity to gather as a spinning community\, working at your own skill level on projects of your choice. Deb will be there to coach\, guide\, and provide encouragement. There is no agenda for this weekend…just come and enjoy doing whatever you want\, whenever you want! You may choose to work on spinning yarn for a specific project\, experimenting with new fibers\, exploring novelty yarns\, or just pulling fibers out of your stash. Bring your own fibers\, or purchase them at the retreat from Deb’s “fiber shop” which will be on-site. Bring your own wheel or rent one from the Fiber Garden for a small fee. The only pre-requisite for the retreat is that you have some beginning spinning experience. You do not need to be an experienced spinner…”early-career” spinners are welcome and encouraged! \nA $100 non-refundable\, non-transferable deposit is required once a space has been released to you. The balance of the fee will be due about 4 weeks prior to the retreat. Retreat fees include lodging\, all meals\, coffee and tea service\, use of Holy Wisdom Retreat Center facilities and trails\, and a special gift! Lodging rooms have private baths a desk and a wardrobe. Space is limited and priority will be given to 3 and 4-night participants\, and 3-day and full-time commuters. If space remains 30 days prior to the retreat\, it will be opened to those requesting to participate for two nights or part-time commuters. \nRetreat fees:\nFour nights; single room – $599; four nights; shared room (two beds)- $499\nThree nights single room – $545; three nights shared room – $445\nTwo nights single room – $425; two nights shared room – $355\nCommuters – $195 for two days; $285 for three days (Friday-Saturday-Sunday); $350 for full commuter package Thursday afternoon – Sunday evening (Commuter rates include all lunches and dinners\, use of facilities and retreat gift) \nRefund policy.   If you need to cancel for any reason\, no refunds will be issued.  Should an event be canceled by the Fiber Garden\, you will receive a full refund.  Thank you for your understanding. \nIf you request a double room and there is no other participant to share a room with\, you will be charged for single occupancy. \nRegistrations open at noon Central time on Thursday\, June 1. 2023!  Click on the “Event Website” below to begin registration on Eventbrite.  Please note a change in the registration process.
