He will be joined by his wife\, Stephanie\, on Celtic harp for a musical duo that will leave you spellbound. Add the intimate atmosphere of a country log home as the concert venue for one of the most unique musical performances you will ever experience! \nAsheville\, North Carolina-based Joshua Messick breathes new life into his ancient\, enchanting instrument. Be transported as he weaves cinematic stylings and endless imagination with virtuosic performances. A beautiful and captivating listening experience\, Joshua is a composer and innovator influenced by Celtic\, World\, Renaissance\, Folk\, and Classical music. Joshua frequently performs throughout the United States and abroad. Recently\, he helped design the Master Works “DulciForte” hammered dulcimer\, an instrument he plays and represents. He has released seven studio albums and was the featured instrumentalist on the Japanese animated film Mary and the Witch’s Flower by Studio Ponoc\, the successor of Studio Ghibli. Joshua owns a recording studio where he collaborates on projects throughout the world. \nStephanie Messick grew up in a musical family and studied harp in college before entering nursing school. She accompanied many weddings and special events throughout nursing school. Today she works in surgery and plays Celtic harp with Joshua on hammered dulcimer. In addition to his classical career as a cellist with the Houston Ballet Orchestra and Houston Symphony\, Max plays cello in every context from opera and chamber music to folk\, jazz\, gospel\, and Indian classical. A sought-after improvising recording artist\, he has performed on Grammy winning albums and hundreds of recording projects from major and independent labels. Max holds a Master’s Degree from Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music where he studied with Shirley Trepel. He lives in Madison\, Wisconsin and is married to cellist and author Cornelia Watkins.
