SUMMARY:Spinners' Color Lab @ Sievers School of Fiber Arts
DESCRIPTION:Step into our color laboratory where we will spend our first two days of class as “mad color scientists” mixing and creating dozens of color formulas and dyeing pounds of fiber\, yarn\, and roving until the studio is overflowing! But what to do with all this color? The second half of the class will immerse us in spinning exercises combining all this color in ways you may never have thought of! Bring along your knitting needles\, crochet hooks\, or sample looms to sample and take your learning to yet another level. \nPlease note that this class is offered through Sievers School of Fiber Arts and you must register through them at the website listed below. \nShare this:Share\n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n Like this:Like Loading…

SUMMARY:Spinner's Color Workshop II @ The Clearing
DESCRIPTION:Enter our fiber color studio where we will spend the week learning to create and manipulate color during all phases of the yarn design process including preparation\, spinning and plying! We will explore how to apply color theory in your yarns and how one color adjustment can change the whole look of your spun yarn. If you have previously taken the Spinner’s Color Workshop\, this will be “part two” with all new color experiments to add to your design tool kit. (Note that the first color workshop is not a requirement to participate in Workshop II.) \nBeginning spinning experience is necessary\, but you don’t need to be an expert to take this class. “Early career spinners” are welcome! \nPlease note that this class is being offered through The Clearing Folk School. You must register directly with The Clearing. Complete details can be found on their website in January 2024. SUMMARY:Beginning Spinning & Rainbow Dyeing @ Sievers School of Fiber Arts
DESCRIPTION:Spend a week of fun learning the art of handspinning and dyeing\, as you turn wool and other fibers into your own unique yarns!  A five-day class is the best way to learn to spin because it provides so much time to practice learning your new skills. SUMMARY:Fiber Blending for Spinning
DESCRIPTION:This week will be a learning laboratory exploring the qualities of many plant and animal fibers\, and what each brings to a finished yarn. Each day will be a set of experiments blending various fibers to produce both woolen and worsted preparations for spinning. You will create a notebook of blended preparations and the resulting yarn. Near the end of the week\, you will design your own signature yarn and prepare and spin the fibers in a sufficient quantity to knit\, crochet\, or weave a finished project.
