2025 Fall Spinners/Weavers Retreat

Join the Fiber Garden and fiber friends for a spinning and rigid heddle weaving holiday at Holy Wisdom Monastery Retreat & Guest House in Middleton WI! The monastery grounds consist of over 130 acres of land, including Lost Lake, the restored prairie and savanna areas, woodlands, gardens, orchards, and nature trails. This retreat is an opportunity to gather as a spinning and weaving community, working at your own skill level on projects of your choice. Deb will be there to coach, guide, and provide encouragement. There is no agenda for this weekend…just come and enjoy doing whatever you want, whenever you want! Bring your own fibers and yarns, or purchase them at the retreat from Deb’s “fiber shop” which will be on-site. Bring your wheel or RH loom or rent one from the Fiber Garden for a small fee. The only pre-requisite for the retreat is that you have some beginning spinning or RH weaving experience. You do not need to be an experienced spinner or weaver…”early-career” spinners and weavers are welcome and encouraged!
A $100 non-refundable, non-transferable deposit is required to confirm your space. The balance of the fee will be invoiced and due about 4 weeks before the retreat. Retreat fees include lodging, all meals, coffee and tea service, use of Holy Wisdom Retreat Center facilities and trails, and a special gift! The first meal is dinner on your arrival day; the last meal is lunch on your departure day (or breakfast for those departing on Monday morning). Lodging rooms have private baths a desk and a wardrobe. Space is limited and priority will be given to 3 and 4-night participants, and 3-day and full-time commuters. If space remains 30 days before the retreat, it will be opened to those requesting to participate for two nights or part-time commuters.
