Beginning Spinning & Rainbow Dyeing @ Sievers School of Fiber Arts
August 21, 2023 - August 26, 2023
Spend a week of fun learning the art of handspinning and dyeing, as you turn wool and other fibers into your own unique yarns! A five-day class is the best way to learn to spin because it provides so much time to practice learning your new skills. You will learn about fleece selection, washing, handcarding, drumcarding, spinning single and multi-ply yarns, and simple dyeing techniques to transform fibers and yarns into a wonderful rainbow of color. Ashford, Louet, Schacht and Kromski spinning wheels and related equipment will be available for your use. This class is for those who have no previous spinning experience. We will start at the very beginning! (If you are among those who were introduced to spinning at my one-day “crash course” at the Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival, this would be a great follow-up to take you much further on your spinning journey!)
Please note that this class is offered through Sievers School of Fiber Arts and you must register through them at the website listed below.
