Cruise Itinerary. Our route travels from Hungary to Nuremberg over seven nights. If you’d like to extend your vacation, you will have the option to add two additional nights at the beginning of your cruise in Budapest and/or three additional nights post-cruise in Prague as land package add-ons. (When reviewing the itinerary at the link, be sure you are reviewing the correct direction…Budapest to Nuremberg!)

Cruise fares. Check this chart for double and single cruise fares for all stateroom categories. Fares listed are per person. Book early for the best rates and stateroom selection! Most stateroom categories will sell out. This page also outlines what is included in your cruise fare.
- Cancellation penalties. Hopefully, you won’t need to cancel your trip, but if you do, you need to be aware of the financial penalties.
- Passenger Ticket Contract/Terms & Conditions. Please read! By reserving a space on this cruise, you are agreeing to the information in these cruise line documents!
- FAQ’s. This is a list of questions frequently asked by travelers.
- Cruise deposit and payments. Once your reservation form is received, a deposit of $400 is due, of which $200 is non-refundable. Air requires an additional $350 deposit for coach fares and $600 for business/first class. Final payments for your cruise will be paid approximately September 1, 2025. All payments must be made by credit card and are processed by the Fiber Garden on your behalf directly to AmaWaterways. You may request payments be made on the balance of your cruise at any time by emailing Deb at the Fiber Garden.
- Air. Please be advised it is HIGHLY recommended that you arrive one or more days prior to the cruise embarkation date of 12/12/25 to allow extra travel time in case of weather, etc. flight delays. Air booking opens approximately 11 months prior to the cruise. We are also recommending that you book air through AmaWaterways, as they will take very good care of you should flights booked through them be delayed or canceled. Hotel options will be available for the extra nights pre-cruise or you may choose to participate in AmaWaterways four-night pre-cruise extension with two nights in Lucerne and two nights in Zurich.
- Pre-cruise lodging. As indicated above, it is highly recommended that you arrive at least one day prior to the embarkation date of the cruise to provide extra time in case of flight delays. We will have hotel lodging available. Location and pricing will be published when available.
- Insurance. Travel insurance is highly recommended not only to protect your travel investment but to provide medical and accident coverage should you become ill or injured while traveling. The Fiber Garden works with two highly reputable travel insurance providers. After your reservation is received we will provide you with a complete written quote for your review. I usually recommend you estimate about 10-12% of the cruise fare for insurance costs. (Those over the age of 70 will likely be a bit higher and those 50 and under may be slightly lower. 10-12% is just to help you with budgeting for the cruise.)The decision to purchase insurance is up to you and the Fiber Garden assumes no liability if you choose to travel without insurance coverage.
- COVID/health requirements. AmaWaterways is not currently requiring proof of Covid-19 vaccination to board their ships. All guests traveling with AmaWaterways remain responsible for ensuring they meet the travel entry requirements for each country they plan to visit before, during or after their river cruise. These requirements, as mandated by airlines and individual countries or regions, may change without notice and cancellation fees will apply should guests no longer meet the country entry requirements for their cruise or land program.
- Reservations. Space is allocated first-come, first-served based on cruise line availability.
- Before making a reservation for this trip, be sure you have thoroughly read all of the information and documents on this page! You are responsible for all information provided to you regarding this tour.
- Please have the following ready before you click on the link to go to the reservation form: passport number and expiration date (must be valid for six months after our return), TSA Precheck/Known Traveler Number (if you have one), airline frequent flyer numbers. (Note that you may initially make a reservation for the cruise without a passport. However, be certain that your name on the reservation matches what will be on your new passport!)
- After your reservation is received, you will get further instructions from the Fiber Garden regarding the process for deposit payment and next steps. Don’t worry, we will guide you through every step to prepare for your cruise!
Terms:
-Reservations are not confirmed until Deb at the Fiber Garden has personally confirmed your space via email.
-Cancellation penalties will apply as outlined on the cancellation page linked above and in the passenger contract.
-You agree to abide by the COVID/health requirements outlined above which represent AmaWaterways policy.
-All tour participants must be in the physical condition necessary to participate in the cruise and activities as outlined in the FAQ document and in the terms and conditions linked above.
-Participants are responsible for all information on this cruise tour including information posted on the tour webpage or sent via email.
-Tour participants will hold harmless Deb Jones and Fiber Garden LLC against any loss or damage resulting from participation in this cruise including, but not limited to injury and financial loss.
