Join the Fiber Garden and spinning friends for a weekend of spinning at the Cloquet Forest Center (CFC) near Cloquet, MN! The 3,000+ acre property is located 3 miles West of the city of Cloquet, near Duluth. This retreat is an opportunity to gather as a spinning community, working at your own skill level on projects of your choice. Deb will be there to coach, guide, and provide encouragement. There is no agenda for this weekend…just come and enjoy doing whatever you want, whenever you want! You may choose to work on spinning yarn for a specific project, experimenting with new fibers, exploring novelty yarns, or just pulling fibers out of your stash. Bring your own fibers, or purchase them at the retreat from Deb’s “fiber shop” that will be on-site. Bring your own wheel or rent one from the Fiber Garden for a small fee. The only pre-requisite for the retreat is that you have some beginning spinning experience. You do not need to be an experienced spinner…”early-career” spinners are welcome and encouraged!

A $100 non-refundable, non-transferable deposit is required to reserve your space for 3 or 4 night, and 3-day or full commuter participation. The balance of the fee will be due about 3-4 weeks prior to the retreat. Retreat fees include lodging, all meals, use of CFC facilities and trails, and a special gift! Lodging rooms have private baths with two twin beds and a desk, wardrobe, and WiFi. Space is limited and priority will be given to 3 and 4-night participants (and 3-day and full commuters). If space remains 30 days prior to the retreat, it will be open to those requesting to participate for two nights or 2-day commuters.

Retreat fees:
Four nights single room – $450; four nights shared room (two twin beds) – $410
Three nights single room – $390; three nights shared room (two twin beds) – $360
Two nights single room – $295; two nights shared room – $275
Commuters – $155 for two days (Fri/Sat or Sat/Sun); $220 for three days (Fri/Sat/Sun); $250 for full commuter package Thursday afternoon – Sunday evening (Commuter rates include daily brunch and dinner, use of facilities and retreat gift)

COVID-19/Health policy: We continue to take precautions to keep guests safe. Until further notice, all participants in Fiber Garden-hosted events are required to show proof of at least one COVID booster within the previous 12 months of the event to participate. There may be additional protocols implemented to ensure maximum safety of participants. If you are sick, please stay home. Anyone showing signs of any illness (not only COVID) after the start of an event will be required to wear an N95 or KN95 mask at all times. By registering for a Fiber Garden-sponsored event, you agree to comply with any established health and safety guidelines. Protocols are subject to change at any time as public health guidance is updated.

Terms:
-Registrations are not confirmed until deposit has been received
-Deposits are non-refundable unless the Fiber Garden cancels the retreat
-Deposits are non-transferable
-Balance of the retreat fee will be invoiced and due 3-4 weeks prior to the retreat. Fees are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by the Fiber Garden.
-If you request shared lodging and there is no other participant to share a room with, you will be charged for single occupancy.
-You agree to the COVID vaccination requirement described above and will provide documentation
-You will not attend the retreat if you are ill. If you begin to show any signs of illness during the event, you will wear an N95 or KN95 mask.
