Description
The Flatiron spinning wheel rises from a flat-packed box much like Boulder’s iconic Flatirons tilted up from a once-horizontal position. The elegant design of the formed maple ply body calls upon the same drama that makes the Flatirons so striking. This unique Saxony-style wheel is anything but traditional, much like Schacht’s hometown of Boulder, Colorado. The Flatiron is customizable with the flyer on either the right or the left. With self-aligning bearings in the maidens and a fully adjustable drive wheel, the whole system is sure to spin true. The quick-release lever makes changing bobbins trouble-free. The Flatiron can be set up in all three tension systems (Scotch, double drive, and bobbin lead.) It comes with medium and fast whorls (ratio range of 10.4:1 to 17.4:1). You can add other whorls for an even wider ratio range. Included are a poly drive band, threading hook, three travel bobbins, and a double drive band.

If you choose local pick-up, we will contact you to set a time for you to come and get your wheel. (Note that during the pandemic we are not allowing anyone into the mercantile, so local pick-up will be outdoors curbside pick-up only.) If you choose “please ship”, you will receive updates on the timeline for shipping your wheel. Most wheels ship promptly.
