Schacht Spindle Company came storming into the spinning scene more than 30 years ago with the introduction of their Matchless wheel. It has stood the test of time and continues to be a very popular wheel. The double-treadle wheel is constructed of hard maple and walnut, and finished with Danish oil. It can be set up with a double drive or Scotch tension. The wheel comes with the medium and fast whorls for ratios of 9:1 to 15:1. Additional whorls can be purchased to further expand your ratios. Also included with each wheel are 4 bobbins, a threading hook, tensioned Lazy Kate, and carrying strap.

But you may also order one to be shipped directly to you from the manufacturer at no additional cost. The Fiber Garden pays all shipping charges! When you select a wheel, you will choose “local pick-up” (if we have your choice of wheel in stock) OR “please ship”. If you choose local pick-up, we will contact you to set a time for you to come and get your wheel. (Note that during the pandemic we are not allowing anyone into the mercantile, so local pick-up will be outdoors curbside pick-up only.) If you choose “please ship”, you will receive updates on the timeline for shipping your wheel. Most wheels ship promptly.
