Plus much more! It’s a fiber-packed itinerary, with opportunities to visit with and learn from local spinners and knitters, plus a grand tour through the breathtaking scenery of several of the islands of Shetland. And, YES! You will see many sights from the Shetland series!

Cost is $4,150 for double occupancy, and $4,750 for single occupancy. These prices exclude round-trip air to Aberdeen and travel insurance. This is one of the most complete travel packages you will find anywhere! This price includes a half-day food and drink walking tour in Aberdeen, flight from Aberdeen to Sumburgh (Shetland), all lodging, three delicious meals daily during the tour, our own personal guide, all tour fees, overnight ferry with outside cabin from Lerwick to Aberdeen, and a tour “care package”.  If you’d like to arrive a night early, the additional cost is $120 for a shared room and $180 for a single room which includes lodging, a three-course dinner on your arrival day, and breakfast the next morning. The group size will be very limited for this tour with a maximum of 12 travelers. Small group size is a great value as you will get “up close and personal” with the people and places we visit.

2024 Shetland FAQs. Answers to many of the questions you might be wondering about. Please review carefully, including the physical requirements and cancellation penalties.

Reservations. You may request a space on this tour beginning at noon on Wednesday, December 20, 2023). Making a reservation is a two-step process! At the bottom of this page, click the link to initiate the reservation process. On the event page for the tour, you will complete the form to “request a space on this tour”. This allows the Fiber Garden to review your initial information, make sure that travel companions do not get separated, and review single vs. shared lodging requests against our room allocations. If a space is available for you, you will receive a notification from Deb informing you of the space and providing a link for you to submit the remainder of your information to complete the reservation.

Reservations are due by February 1, 2024! After this date, you can contact the Fiber Garden to check for any remaining available space.
Before making a reservation for this trip, be sure you have thoroughly read all of the information and documents on this page! You are responsible for all information provided to you regarding this tour. If this tour has reservation requests beyond its capacity, priority will be given to those who have NOT visited Shetland with the Fiber Garden in the past.

COVID and health protocols. To ensure the safety of those traveling in our group and those in Shetland we will visit, please be advised that you will be required to be fully vaccinated, with at least one booster within 12 months of the tour. Current CDC guidelines will be followed for anyone testing positive for COVID during the tour.  If the COVID situation changes or any other significant health threats arise requiring additional protocols, these will be addressed as the tour gets closer. To participate in this tour, you must be willing to adhere to any COVID or other health protocols in place at the time of our travel. Anyone showing any signs of illness during the tour (not only COVID), will be required to wear an N95 or KN95 mask.

The Fiber Garden reserves the right to refuse any reservation for their tours, including from individuals who have been non-compliant with health and safety protocols, or who have demonstrated a lack of consideration toward group members on previous tours.

Terms:
-Registrations are not confirmed until Deb at the Fiber Garden has personally confirmed your space via email.
-Deposits are non-refundable unless the Fiber Garden cancels the tour
-Cancellation penalties will apply as outlined in the FAQ document
-You agree to the COVID vaccination requirement described above and will provide documentation
-Anyone showing any signs of illness during the tour will wear an N95 or KN95 mask at all times
-All tour participants must be in the physical condition necessary to participate in the tour as outlined in the FAQ document.
-Participants are responsible for all information on this tour including information posted on the tour webpage or sent via email.
-Tour participants will hold harmless Deb Jones and Fiber Garden LLC against any loss or damage resulting from participation in this tour including, but not limited to injury and financial loss.
